Ikea Financing

If you are one who has had a strong attraction for Ikea house furniture, kitchen appliances and building supplies, clothing or office furniture, but have no idea how to pay for it, you may be interested in applying for Ikea financing.
The Ikea credit card works on a 90 days same-as-cash promotion, meaning you receive no finance charge if you pay in full for your purchase in 90 days. You must purchase at least $299 in merchandise to qualify for no interest. If you cannot meet the total balance in 90 days, a finance charge will be applied to your account.
In addition to this special zero percent Ikea financing option, the company offers special promotions for payment plans throughout the year. A special October and November 2009 promotion helped homeowners build their dream kitchens. Those who could spend at least $2,500 on Ikea products could get 20 percent off their total purchase and 24 months of interest-free financing. The promotion ended November 11, 2009.
Customers who make purchases over $1,000 in any Ikea store are able to take advantage of a lower annual percentage rate than normal. The lower rate must be requested at the time of purchase, however. The standard Ikea percentage rate is 25.99, and delinquent accounts get a 29.99 percent charge.
In addition to invitations to special events and the company catalog that gets snail mailed to all credit card holders, Ikea financing beneficiaries receive access to manage their accounts online. Those customers can see details for all transactions, pay their monthly balance, update personal information and even request an increase in their credit lines.
Of course, any application for Ikea financing is reviewed for a good credit rating and subject to credit approval. The credit options offered year-round must still meet typical financing approval standards.
Having plenty of room on standard credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover) helps your financing choices, too. If those cards are maxed out, it might help to finance your shopping spree at Ikea by saving spare change from the sofa cushions for a few months and depositing it in your bank account. The store takes checks, and you will become your own financing agent – with absolutely no interest – if you write one. Gift cards are also available, if you wanted to request those as gifts for a special occasion.
Most Ikea stores are massive and look a lot like warehouses, so if you can deal with moving through large crowds and navigating the merchandise; this is the shopping experience for you. Just make sure your Ikea financing options have been nailed down before you toss a cool item into your cart.
