If you are pressed for space, a desk, office chair, printer, filing cabinet, computer, and printer might be all that you can comfortably fit in your office. This can be an excellent way of furnishing your small home office relatively inexpensively, spending in the ballpark of $100 – $500, whereas the same furnishings would likely cost $300 – $2000 new.
If there are no companies relocating or going of business near you, be sure to shop the sales. There is no reason to pay full retail price for an item when that same item can be purchased on sale for a fraction of the original cost. Many of the larger retail office chains have sales a few times a year. Be sure to keep an eye on the circulars that you get in the mail to be able to take advantage of any valuable coupons that are in fliers. This can be a great way of getting new, quality office supplies and furniture at a price that you can afford.
