Mango trees are fast growing and are highly renewable compared to other types of trees.  When cut down, they are replaced.  In the past, mango farmers would grow the trees for their fruit but cut down and burn the wood when they become less productive (to be replanted).  However, the farmers realized the possibilities of selling the wood for furniture and arts/crafts and have since started selling the wood instead of burning it.

Mango wood is very beautiful and shows many distinct colors compared to other woods.  You can find the wood with green, brown, and yellow hues.  In an aesthetic setting, this wood can be very desirable for craftsmen to make high quality and beautiful products.

Where can you buy mango wood furniture?

Mango furniture can be a bit hard to find online.  Very few websites have a good selection and are able to ship to the USA.  In most cases you’re going to need to look for this type of wood at your local furniture stores.  After some research, I’ve found a few businesses that are near by where I live who sell mango wood furniture.

So what should you do when shopping for furniture for your apartment?  First off, make sure you fully measure the room that you have to put furniture.  Don’t go to the store and expect a lot of help from the employees/salespeople if you don’t know how much space you have.  Second, consider any and all activities you may do in the apartment.  As I mentioned earlier, if you plan on doing some exercises like crunches, push ups, make sure you leave room for that.  The Kinect (for the Xbox 360) requires a lot of room to use.  Too much furniture can make it impossible to use it.   Finally, consider the aesthetics and style of your furniture.  Do not choose furniture that will look out-of-place because of the carpet or wall color.
